This Hospitalist team consisted of 18 Hospitalists, 2 Nurse Practitioners and 2 Administrative Assistants. CLC was asked to coach the Hospitalist team, as their patient satisfaction scores were below the 50% mark. During his coaching of the Chief Hospitalist, uncovered significant issues among the Hospitalist team members. Issues existed such as extremely poor communication during patient hand-offs, Hospitalists leaving before the end of their shifts and the team being separated into two factions due to differing pay structures. The team-coaching program not only resolved the issues, it also resulted in patient satisfaction scores above 80%.
